#UULent - Devotion

Today's word is devotion. Which is one of those words which often has a religious connotation that UUs find uncomfortable. However there are plenty of other meanings, not the least of which is shown in the photo I posted today, so here's a short poem.

Devotion to a cause, devotion to a goal: the right and the wrong.
Devotion of an animal: a dog or a horse, but probably not a cat.
Devotion of a mother: from birth until death do part.
Devotion of a spouse: in sickness and in health.
Devotion of friend: often deserved, sometimes not.
Devotion to duty can be used and abused.
